Until further notice several communities in north central Wisconsin have issued an alert asking residents to keep their faucets running to avoid having to deal with frozen pipes.
The following villages and cities are affected:
•Kronenwetter (Residents West of I-39)
•Rothschild -amended to include all residents (2/17)
•Wausau (Select Residents)
•White Lake (Langlade County)
•Village of Whiting ( Portage County)
There may be other communities also asking residents to run their water. If you're uncertain, please check with your municipality.
Most of these communities are asking residents to keep a pencil-sized stream running continually, and say residents will not be charged for the additional water usage.
