Senator Tammy Baldwin was in the area today speaking with local seniors about healthcare concerns.
She held a forum at the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Portage County.
While some have criticised Baldwin and other senators for spending time away from the nation's capitol as the sequester gets closer,Baldwin says she still feels it is important to talk with those who will be affected most by federal health care changes.
"It is important for me to get home and talk to the various steakholders who are going to be a part of making this a sucess. I am trying to be as strong of an advocate as I can to make sure we do it properly and if there is problems that we do it promptly" Baldwin said.
Earlier in the day Baldwin toured the Delta Dental facility in Stevens Point.
