UPDATE: Blown Tire to Blame for Semi Rollover in Rothschild

UPDATE: Tue 3:42 PM, Oct 01, 2013

The Rothschild Police Department said a blown tire was to blame for causing a semi to lose control and rollover. The crash happened around 9 a.m. Thursday near the Business 51 exit on Highway 29.

“He was going westbound on 29 and then it appears he lost control... crossed the median, then came through the guardrail, through the fence and ended up on its side on the southbound side." explained Sergeant Rich Reichenberger of the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The semi was hauling about four tons of dry cement at the time.

Crews say if the truck stopped 15 or 20 feet further -- it could've ended up in the nearby Wisconsin River.
