The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department is investigating a burglary and a vehicle theft case they believe are related.
Authorities say on August 26, the owner of Schult’s Country Inn phoned the Sheriff’s Office and reported he interrupted a possible burglary that morning. The owner said when he arrived at the bar he found a man inside of the building.
He described the suspect as late 20s, with short black hair and a scruffy beard. He's accused of taking more than $500 from the business.
Later that day, the owner also noticed a vehicle had been stolen from the property.
On August, 27 the vehicle was located on S. Foster Street in Merrill. Neighbors reported seeing the vehicle being parked on Monday and a male and female both 25-30 years of age walking to the east.
The description of the man matched the description of the burglary suspect. The woman is described as short with hair down to her waist.
