The Marathon County Sheriff's Department is searching for a man they say robbed the Banner Bank in Hatley Wednesday afternoon.

A lieutenant says they're still looking for the suspect who got away with an undetermined amount of money. He also had a semi-automatic weapon. The lieutenant says after the robbery, the suspect stole a vehicle from a bank customer. That car has since been recovered.

Hatley residents are urged to stay in their homes and keep their doors locked.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 25-30 years of age, with brown hair, baseball hat, and blue and white plaid shirt
