It can be difficult to get a solid education if you don't have the right supplies. For some, pencils, notebooks, and rulers can be difficult to afford.
The Stevens Point Police Department has an answer. They are holding a school supplies drive for disadvantaged children. More than 3,000 children are eligible to participate.
"One of our mission statements for the police department is partnership and this is a way for us to have a partnership with the community," says Police Chief Kevin Ruder.
A collection bin will be in the lobby of the police department until August 15th.
