As Wausau Paper Transitions the Brokaw Mill, three of their other mills are up for sale. One of those lies in Mosinee. With the future still up in the air, many wonder if it closed how the school district would be affected.
The Mosinee School District is waiting to see what happens. They say if a closure is imminent, they can handle whatever may come following that.
“People will look for different employment. If they have to leave they will, but if people can stay here they will. We have many attractive opportunities and offer and a lot. It’ll hurt us a little but we’ll make sure that we survive here.”
Another mill for sale is located in Rhinelander. We contacted their Superintendent and he tells us that they are hoping for the best.
