UPDATE: Lockdown Lifted at Jefferson Co. School

UPDATE: Tues 5:35 PM, Oct. 15, 2013

A lockdown at Johnson Creek schools has been lifted. According to WTMJ-TV, the schools were place on lockdown by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department after situation regarding threatening text messages.

Authorities says the text messages were directed at someone who lived near the school, so as a precautionary measure the school was placed on lockdown.

According two WMTV-TV, a tactical situation involving the SWAT team is still underway.

A school district is southeast Wisconsin is under a lockdown according to their website.

According to WMTV-TV, a Johnson Creek school district employee said the incident that prompted the lockdown did not occur at the school. Shortly before dismissal the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department requested the school go into lockdown mode. No other details are being released at this time.

Johnson Creek is 35 miles east of Madison.
