The Salvation Army in Wausau distributed toys to families in need this holiday season. Thursday afternoon parents from across Marathon County came to pick up toys for their kids. Thanks to help from Toys for Tots and members of the Marine Corps, the distribution was a success.
This year the need is greater than ever. The Salvation Army says that 75 more families received toys than in previous years. Thanks to generous donations however, they were able to provide gifts for everyone.
Many of the gifts were donated as a result of the Angel Tree located in the Wausau Center Mall. Children select a gift they would like to receive, and mall patrons are then able to donate the gift to them.
