SPASH's season comes to a heartbreaking end at the hands of number 1-ranked Sun Prairie, 4-3 in 9 innings.
7th ranked SPASH scored in the top of the first, only to have Sun Prairie tie it up in the bottom of the first on a wild pitch. The Cardinals took a 3-1 lead in the 5th, but the Panthers pulled even in the 6th to tie it up.
Quarterfinal winning pitcher Logan Mallek came on in relief in the 7th for the Panthers and recorded 6 strikeouts in the 7th and 8th innings. But ran out of steam in the bottom of the 9th, loading the bases before the game-winning single sealed it for Sun Prairie.
SPASH's season ends at 22-7. Sun Prairie moves on to face Bay Port in Thursday's D1 championship game.
