WASHINGTON (AP) -- Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio, two potential 2016 presidential candidates, are laying out pathways for their Republican Party and nudging a party still reeling from its loss to President Barack Obama.

Ryan, the GOP's vice presidential nominee in 2012 and a congressman from Wisconsin, is telling Republicans they can't look at the electorate as "our voters" and "their voters." Rubio, a senator from Florida, is ready to outline his views for the party going forward during a later set of remarks.

The pair is appearing at a dinner hosted by the foundation of Republicans' 1996 vice presidential nominee, the late Jack Kemp. While the dinner was held in honor of Kemp's legacy, Ryan and Rubio both had a chance to test out potential themes for a 2016 campaign.
