Road Work To Begin in Marathon, Lincoln, & Shawano County

As vacationers prepare to make the trip back home after the holiday weekend, there is some road construction scheduled to start this week.

Beginning Tuesday, May 27th a number of lanes will be closed on US-51, I-39, and WIS 29 due to bridge work and beam guard repair.

Those areas affected include the following:

Southbound US 51 between Bridge St. (Exit 193) and Stewart Ave. (Exit 192A).
Southbound I-39 between Maple Ridge Road (Exit 181) and WIS 153 (Exit 179).
Eastbound WIS 29 between Hilltop Rd. and Marathon County D.
Westbound WIS 29 between White Birch Rd. in Marathon County Y (Exit 185).

Starting Wednesday, May 28th in Marathon County County Road F between County Road H and County Road S in the Towns of Halsey and Hamburg will be closed. The Highway Department will be making pavement repairs in that area.

In Lincoln County, single lane closures on US 51 southbound are set to begin Wednesday, May 28th. The closure will run between Lincoln County C and Lincoln County K.

Finally, Thursday, May 29th work is scheduled to start on eastbound WIS 29 in Shawano County between Shawano County M and WIS 22. Crews will be making pavement repairs in that area.
