It's time to lace up you're skates and hit the ice. The Rib Mountain Ice Rink opened at 1:00PM Saturday to a crowd of eager skaters.
Rink attendants worked throughout the morning to clear snow off the ice so it would be ready in time for the grand opening.
"Me and my partner got a little garden tractor and a snowblower and shovels to go around the outer edges of the hockey rink," Rink attendant Jason Kickbusch told NewsChannel 7 about the preparations.
There are two different rinks at the Doepke Recreational Area. One rink for free skate and one for hockey. Both filled up within minutes of the rink opening.
Normal rink hours are as follows:
Monday through Friday 4:00PM-9:00PM
Saturday and Sunday 1:00PM-9:00PM
The rink will have extended holiday break hours, opening everyday until New Years Day at 1:00PM.
