A 38-year-old convicted sex offender is behind bars on a $15,000 cash bond after investigators say they found child porn on the man's computer.
An investigation began May 9, after a routine sex offender verification check at the home of Kenneth Von Arx.
According to the criminal complaint, the officer found a photo of a woman and child wearing bathing suits on Von Arx's computer. In Wisconsin, convicted sex offenders may not have photos of even clothed children.
Von Arx was charged this week with possession of child pornography and intentionally photograph a minor without consent
Von Arx was convicted of 2nd degree and 4th degree sexual assault of a child in 1999. According to Von Arx's most recent criminal complaint, he said he had sex with 13-year-old when he was in 20s-- prompting that conviction.
The man's computer was seized and deeper investigation uncovered a photo of nude girl, estimated to be 12-14 years old.
Von Arx will return to court May 30 to learn if the case will head to trial.
