Red Cross Assisting Mother of 2 Following House Fire

The Red Cross is assisting a mother and her two older children after their home went up in flames.

A lieutenant with the Wausau fire department tells Newschannel 7 it happened around 4 p.m. Wednesday on the 800 block of Mcintosh Road.

He says the 42 year old mother came home and discovered the fire.

Officials say a pan with oil on the stove appears to be the cause, but the fire is still under investigation.

No one was injured.
