Wisconsin Rapids police say two elderly women who vanished from the McMillion Library have been found, safe.
According to the department's Facebook page, they vanished at about 6:45pm Thursday.
Lt. Steve Lowe tells NewsChannel 7 they were part of a group being taken to the library from an elder care facility. They vanished as the rest of the people on the bus were being helped in.
The inside of the library was checked out and officers began a search of the neighborhood around it.
Lt. Lowe says after 8pm, they were working with the women's families, gathering more information and pictures to expand the search. Then, they got a call from the library saying the women had returned and were okay.
Lowe says his officers were going to talk with the women to find out where they had been.
