RACINE, Wis. (AP) -- A Racine police officer is on administrative duty after he was stopped by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department, reportedly for driving under the influence.

The sheriff's office says the 40-year-old Racine police officer was netted in a weekend DUI patrol along with 25 other suspected drunken driving offenders.

The officer was issued a citation for his first drunken driving offense. According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department, the officer registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.16 percent, twice Wisconsin's legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Racine police tell The Journal Times the officer was taken off active patrol and placed on administrative duties until Racine police can confirm further details.

The officer's name was not released.
