Bus service in Wausau will stay the same, but communities like Weston and Schofield will finally have service back. The start date being looked at to implement the system is 2013.
After months of back and forth between the municipalities and residents; a decision has been made. However, it took lots of team work that included Wausau and Metro Ride.
N.A.O.M.I. , the committee that’s fought to keep the routes, is just as excited about the service coming back as the directors from each city.
Rabbi Dan Danson, the spoke person for NAOMI said, “If I’m hearing it correctly from this meeting, the deadlines are realistic in terms of municipal budgets. I’m confident that it will be passed and start relatively soon.
Preliminary figures from Metro Ride show that it will cost just under $100,000 total based off how many miles the route will cover in the three areas.
