A mobile food vendor task force has proposed a rule that would require mobile food vendors stay 75 feet away from any brick and mortar restaurant.
The controversy is over whether the mobile food vendors are negatively effecting the restaurants' business.
Angie Gonzalez, part owner of El Jalapeno in Wausau, says she feels the food vendors should have some boundaries.
"If there are any street vendors, they should be located in a centralized area," says Gonzalez, "one, so people can find them, and two, so people don't get confused -- if they belong to a restaurant."
But some mobile food vendors think it will destroy their business.
"I think its a little excessive on the space." Says Corrie Merklein, part owner of CJ's Catering of Wausau. "For a lot of us food vendors, it takes us completely away from the 400 block."
The Wausau City Council will consider the rule in it's meeting on Tuesday.
