The Shawano County Coroner says more information is expected later this week from the State Crime Lab about a body found Sunday, May 11 in the Township of Richmond.
Coroner Mike Jesse confirmed the human remains are female, but said no other information is available.
From the beginning of the investigation, the Sheriff's Department said the case is being handled as a possible homicide.
The body was found along the south side of Peach Road.

The Shawano County Sheriff's Office is confirming human remains have been found along the south side of Peach Road in the Township of Richmond in Shawano County.
Saturday a group of young adults found the remains while walking in the woods. The Sheriff's office received the calls at approximately 5:25 PM. Deputies were sent to the scene to investigate.
The case is being handled as a possible homicide. The remains, artifacts, and evidence have been sent for a forensic exam and autopsy to the Wisconsin State Crime Lab for further examination and positive identification.
The recovery portion of the case took from the time of the call until approximately 2 AM Sunday morning. A guard was posted at the scene until Detectives returned early Sunday morning to comb the area for further information or items to be found. They have since completed that portion of the investigation.
The Shawano County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Shawano County Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation, the Wisconsin Crime Lab, and the Shawano County and Bonduel Fire Departments.
The Sheriff's Department will not be releasing any more information until further results come back from the examination.
The Shawano County Sheriff's Office is reporting possible findings of human remains.
A press release states they received a call at 5:25 Saturday evening. WLUK in Green Bay reports that deputies responded to a wooded area near Rocky Ridge Land near County Road MMM and Highway 29 outside Shawano. The Sheriff's Office said they're doing an investigation in the report.
A press event is scheduled for Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Sheriff's Department.
