Poll: Wis. Voters Favor Obama Over 4 GOP Rivals

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A new poll shows President Barack Obama easily leading each of his four Republican rivals in Wisconsin.

A Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday shows Obama leading former Sen. Rick Santorum, 51 percent to 40 percent, and leading former Gov. Mitt Romney, 53 percent to 38 percent.

The poll questioned 716 registered Wisconsin voters from Feb. 16-19.

Against Rep. Ron Paul, the poll shows Obama leading 52 percent to 36 percent, and the president holds a lead over former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, 56 percent to 33 percent.

Santorum is the early favorite in Wisconsin's Republican primary April 3. The poll shows him with 34 percent, while Romney gets 18 percent. Another 17 percent say they're undecided.

The overall margin of error is plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.

Tonight once again we as voters will hear debates from dumb, dumber, a lot dumber and the dumbest. I can not believe the Republicans have no quailfied person to run for President. This is sad!

Last election the Republicans had McCain a great person and a war hero, then they added Palin to the ticket. This spelled disaster right away. This election they have no one that stands out in a crowd to run for the party. Did greed, money or stupidity within the party win out in the GOP?

Obama gets slammed by Republicans for making statements and proposals concerning health care related to birth control and ect. Then what happens here comes Santourm. The Republicans and their backers think nothing about his comments on this subject and many others that should be left to people and their bedrooms. Again we hear talking from both sides of the mouth.

You just never know what will happen at election time. But I can not believe the Republican candidates bring up so much for the Democrats to use later when it is 1 on 1. Unbelieveable! What is wrong with them?

  Do not group all people in the opinion of one area. Not all rural people feel as you do. Remember it is still a free country and a free state. This is why we have election to vote as we want.

Where is the surprise in that? The Republican plan is to cut taxes for the rich, cut Social Security and Medicare, start WW3, deregulate Wall Street and Polluters and return to the rest of the Bush policies. That would be as if the proverbial dog returning to it's own vomit. Is it possible a current Republican candidate win?...well, I though we were too smart to be embroiled in another Vietnam, but as we weren't under George Bush, I guess anything is possible.
