Poll: Walker's Favorability Rating Dips Since Jan.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A new poll says Gov. Scott Walker's favorability rating has dipped in the past month.

The Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday says 46 percent have a favorable opinion of him compared to 48 percent unfavorable. Last month, his favorable rating was 50 percent with 45 percent unfavorable.

One reason might be an ongoing John Doe investigation, which is looking into several former Walker aides and associates. The poll says 52 percent believe the investigation is "really something serious" while 40 percent say it's "just more politics."

The poll questioned 716 registered Wisconsin voters from Feb. 16-19. The overall margin of error is plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.

Walker is the target of a recall election. But for each of five Democrats considered possible opponents, at least 40 percent of respondents say they don't know enough to draw an opinion.

It is no wonder this is happening. You can't keep looking foolish constantly in the news. Plus every one who views your video or add knows you are lying out of both sides of your mouth.

Walker is his own worst enemy. He can not stay out of the news. Whenever he has a story, another contradiction story comes out.

We maybe messed up down here in Illinois at least we are not in denial, about our problems at least we know our devils. Walker and Co. are a bunch of of incompetent bafoons the VOCAL MAJORIY knows this to be true. At least the true wisconsinites know how true that is,and I am not talking about the TEA BAGGING blowharts that are on here, they don't have a clue at all or are in complete denial. What a shame

I'm definitely not a tea party guy. I think they are generally uneducated tools of the rich and powerful. But if you look at the retirement pension funds...Pew Center data....and other sources. You will see that Wisconsin and Florida are well funded. Illinois is among the top of the worst in the nation in that regards. To solve the problem, your sales tax and income taxes will increase substantially, or your property taxes will sky rocket if they decide to drive the sortfall back to the local government....good luck. That being said, I would stand in line an hour to get rid of Walker.

Mark, I would stand in line for a week to get rid Walker (or more) I agree with you about the tea party folk, too. I am so ashamed that we have a crook and his cronies in our state capitol. I thought we were above all that. No matter where you stand on the Walker issue there is no way an intelligent person with control over their faculties can say he is honest and trustworthy. How sad and how devastating for the people of Wisconsin.

We gave SEARS a favorable tax break so they wouldn't leave Illinois. Over 600 Jobs last week that's how they repaid Gov. Quinn!!!!! J.P.Morgan and Chase hid many of Greeces debts sothey could get a favorable line of Credit. Guess what J.P ended up getting bailed out by our own tax payers because they couldn'tcover Greece's debt. David, Most big companies committ fraud decieving by using tactic to hide their debts and in the end getting away with not billions but trillions of TAX PAYER money. Once they get that money they give HUGE bonuses to the execs and whomever helped them get that bailout gets a good portion too. How fair is that David???? So it's okay to give no help to the middle class, but it is okay to give BILLIONS to the companies that screwed the middle class. David that is exactly what you are saying. Dave you been EXPOSED!!!!!!!!!!!

"Wealth" has become the opiate of the people. Some have more then others, and the rest are jealous ."Double the quota of bricks and gather the straw at night".

There is no comparison between the finances of Illinois and Wisconsin. One state has been fiscally responsible and one hasn't. The Wisconsin pension plan is well funded. Illinois has been borrowing and not funding their pensions to the tune of a $85 billion deficit. What even compounds the problem is that teachers in Illinois don't have Social Security as they paid more into their state pensions to receive all their pension from Illinois. If I was an Illinois teacher, I don't know if I could sleep well at night.

Amazing to see the number of people that just don't understand how statistic and sampling works. Anyway, when I see Walker on TV begging for money to save his governorship, it seems pretty pitiful. If I didn't have an inkling of how many people he was jobbing, I might actually feel some sympathy for him. Instead, I think everytime I see him from now on, I will run to the bathroom and flush the toilet to add sound effects to his career.

Try watching the news, try to listen to a radio or reading a newspaper. If you do, this should provide a clue as to why this is happening.
  • by Old man on Feb 22, 2012 at 04:17 PM
Now we see again this afternoon Walker or his antics hit the news again. I am really amazed that people back this guy. More amazing is the voters with school age children backing such a person. Do they care so little about their children's education and future? If I had children I wouldn't want them in the Wisconsin school system. Because of all the cuts to education they will have a very slim chance in society. I can't believe this.

How is this poll accurate? A handful of people in the metro area. Nonsense!

Can someone substantiate only one metro area? Which one is "the" area? I don't read that in the write-up. It has the appearance of a random statewide poll. Please cite a trustworthy source so I can (& will) believe the claimed "Truth" and "Nonsense." Until then, I'll trust this news release.

To bad for you Tea Baggers, the north is only a very small amount of the states population. Not a lot of votes compared to the rest of the state. You will see the REAL Silent Majority speak at the voting booth.
  • by A Walker problem on Feb 22, 2012 at 01:05 PM
I would state that I feel Walkers main problem is not going out to the public and visiting and speaking with them. Every politican you see is out there and has their palm extended and greeting the public. Take a look at summer parades. Do you ever see a parade without the handshake? Does this say anything? Do you see Walker doing this? NO!
