Poll: 59 Percent Disapprove of Gov. Walker's Performance

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A new poll finds 59 percent of Wisconsin residents disapprove of Gov. Scott Walker's performance.

The University of Wisconsin Survey Center's Badger Poll released Wednesday shows 55 percent are dissatisfied with the way things are going in Wisconsin.

The center notes the likely reason for Walker's disapproval rate is 55 percent said they opposed his two-year budget plan, which makes deep cuts to public education to deal with a $3 billion budget shortfall.

Walker says he's unconcerned with the findings. He says most are unhappy with the state's direction because of anger over the Senate recall elections and the national economy.

The random telephone poll of 556 people conducted between June 17 and July 10 has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.2 percentage points.

I cant understand some of you! I support Gov Walker!! Hes gonna bring State of Wisconsin back on its feet not on its knees. Stop draining money for your own personal gain!!

I watched channel 7's news at 5 just to see if they would have this story on. NOPE. But they ran Obama's current poll numbers. This station is so republican leaning it is't funny. That is why I watch 9 most of the time.

I guess we are all waking up to the fact that there is no silver bullet to eliminate the state deficit. Of course we could have left everything in place and then tax businesses more. Oh yeah, then that increases the cost of goods and services that we buy. Or the business plans on moving operations out of the state (e.g. Boeing) to stay competitive. Then that means more people out of jobs and using gov't funds for unemployment and other low income services until they find something else. As a rule - businesses don't pay taxes. Whatever the government taxes a corporation is passed onto consumers in the form of higher prices. BTW, thanks to a big increase in my property taxes, I just took a pay cut too. And thanks to Democratic policies in Washington that continue this economic malaise - it also impacted my income and many other people too.

All I am saying is as a Hospital Employee I am being told, not asked, that I have to take a pay cut. How is that supposed to help the economy when our Hospital receives no state funding at all. Walker, can't wait to see you go.

Walker is embarrassing Wisconsin. he campaigned on a "Brown Bag" campaign and as soon as the first budget came around he dropped the "Brown Bag"policy and picked up the republican party agenda. If you want sound advice, call Walker and tell him to get back to his campaign promises. transparent government, accountability in government and creating an environment for jobs in Wisconsin .Not the "backdoor " tactics I have seen lately

I support governor Walker. He is our Governor. Those of you that protest, you had you chance and you will again, but for gosh darn sake STOP EMBARASSING WISCONSIN< Why the recall?
