(CBS) - As Angela Voelkert and her husband David were about to go through a messy divorce, she decided to try a little Facebook deception to get her husband to spill some of his dirty little secrets.
But, what Angela ended up finding out was not so little. Her husband was plotting to kill her and run off with their kids, police believe, according to a report.
Angela, 29, created a fake Facebook profile portraying a teen named Jessica Studebaker and became "friends" with her 38-year-old husband on the site, reports the New York Post.
David soon allegedly confessed to "Jessica" that he had secretly placed a GPS tracking device in Angela's van and was using it to locate her when he was ready to have her killed, the Post reports.
He allegedly asked the "girl" to find a "gang-banger" at her school who'd be willing to do the job for $10,000.
He then asked the "teen" to run away with him once his wife was dead, according to the paper.
David, a video and audio equipment salesman in South Bend, Ind., was arrested Friday and charged in federal court with illegally installing the GPS device. Officials said he could face more serious charges.
