Police: Waukesha Woman Found Safe after Domestic Incident

WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) -- Waukesha police say a missing woman has been found safe after a domestic violence incident that led to a standoff.

Police found the woman at a relative's house in Pewaukee around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. She was unhurt and in good condition.

Apparently the woman had left her home Tuesday night before officers arrived because she felt threatened.

Police were called to the home in Waukesha about 6:20 a.m. Wednesday. Officers knew the owner of the home had firearms and had previously threatened to shoot police.

No one responded when officers went to the front door and tried calling the house. Tactical officers and an armored vehicle were sent to the scene.

The suspect turned himself in to officers about four hours later. Officials say he has not cooperated with investigators.
