GOODMAN, Wis.-- Authorities say a Green Bay man has died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot after shooting at a random car and at sheriff's deputies on a Marinette County highway.
Sheriff's officials say a couple in the car told investigators a man in a black SUV began shooting at them on Highway 141 near Wausaukee and struck their vehicle.
Deputies spotted the SUV speeding down the wrong side of the highway and gave chase. The pursuit continued west on Highway 8 where the suspect fired at the squads.
Authorities say the man turned down a dirt road and deputies lost track of his vehicle. Brown County sheriff's deputies and State Patrol troopers joined in a search for the man.
Officers eventually found the man lying outside his SUV with a gunshot wound to the head.
