UPDATE: 6/20 at 12:17 p.m.
According to court documents, an anonymous tip is what led to the arrest of three people in marijuana drug ring.
According to the criminal complaint, police received a tip that someone, driving a van, would be picking up 2 lbs. of marijuana at an apartment on 600 block of Brooks Place. Officers monitored the residence and noticed a van arrive and leave shortly after.
Officers stopped the van after it left the apartment for an equipment violation. The driver, later identified as Vili Yang, 32, got out the vehicle and acted suspicious when questioned by officers.
A K-9 officer was requested to respond to the scene and signaled the presence of drugs. Officers opened a box with shipping labels and discovered more than 6 lbs. of marijuana. Yang, and female passenger, identified as May Vue, 31, both denied knowing what was in the box.
The Vue and Yang told officers they were asked to ship the box for Jacqulyn Gauger, 34. Police told Yang that did not make sense, as the package label said it was to be shipped to Gauger. The return address was from Los Angeles, California.
Officers searched Gauger's apartment and discovered items suspected to be used for the sale of marijuana, including marijuana already packaged in small baggies, according to the criminal complaint.
Police say in addition to the marijuana, they also seized over $2,500 in cash.
Vili Yang is charged with possession with intent to THC, manufacturing or delivering THC, two counts of bail jumping, resisting an officer, possessing a controlled substance and obtaining a prescription illegally. He's behind bars on a $50,000 cash bond.
May Vue is charged with possession with intent to THC, possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia, possessing a controlled substance and obtaining a prescription illegally. She's in custody on a $5,000 cash bond.
Jacqulyn Guager is charged with maintaining a drug trafficking place, manufacture or delivering THC, and two counts possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was also set a $5,000 cash.
All three suspects are behind bars in the Marathon County Jail and are expected to return to court later this month.
