A 19-year-old man accused of three counts of burglary, arson, and failure to comply with an officer is free on a $5,000 bond.

According to police, officers responded to an alarm at a retail shop located on 4th Street in Marshfield on April 29, just after 1 a.m. Tuesday.

When officers arrived they say the suspect, identified by police as Michael Straka, was still inside. Police say Straka attempted to flee out a window, but stopped once an officer spotted him. According to a press release, the suspect had also lit some items on fire inside the business.

The business, Avalon, has apartments above it. One tenant was evacuated.

Straka is expected to a enter a plea to the charges on May 30.
