This marks the Pointers' seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.

The last time UWSP hosted an NCAA Tournament game was when the Pointers were crowned NCAA Division III Champions in 2009-10. The Pointers hosted and defeated Carleton College in the first round, St. Norbert in the second round, and UT-Dallas and Illinois-Wesleyan in the sectionals.

The Pointers will face Concordia-Moorhead (21-6), which received an at-large bid to the tournament.

UWSP and Concordia- Moorhead have met just two times before, with the Pointers taking both matchups. The teams' first ever meeting came in the 1987 National Championship game, which the Pointers won 81-74, for UW-Stevens Points first national title in program history. The two met again in the Pointer tip-off tournament in 2009, which UWSP won 69-67.

The Pointers finished the regular season 23-5 overall and 12-4 in conference, taking third during the regular season and then winning the WIAC Tournament title over UW-Whitewater on Feb. 24.

The tournament title is the Pointers sixth straight, making it their sixth straight trip to the big dance.

UWSP has been ranked in the top-25 of the D3hoops.com weekly poll all season; reaching as high as No. 3, which came after the Pointers upset No. 1 Calvin College on opening weekend of the season.

Last season the Pointers traveled to Grand Rapids, Mich., knocking out Franklin (Ind.) before falling to host Calvin College.

The Cobbers qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the last five years and are heading to their 18th NCAA tournament appearance in program history.
