Forty-two year old Chad Lattimer is free on a $2500 signature bond after police say he brought multiple knives to SPASH, refused to show identification and was tased by an officer.

While on bond, Lattimer must not handle dangerous weapons, visit SPASH or its campus and must take all prescribed medications.

A sergeant from the Police Department says it happened after a knife fell out of his pocket.
Stevens Point police say a father was tased outside Stevens Point Area High School Friday afternoon.

Officers say the 42-year-old man had gone to the school looking for his son about 12:30pm and refused to sign in or follow school protocol for visitors.

When he still refused to cooperate, he was escorted outside and more officers were called to assist.

Sergeant Dan Wheeler tells NewsChannel 7 the parent was asked for identification and when removing his wallet, a large folding knife fell out of his pocket onto the ground.

When the father refused to follow police commands not to pick up the knife, he was tased one time and taken into custody.

No one was injured and no students were threatened during the incident.

He man is behind bars and is expected to be charged with resisting an officer, carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct, and possessing a weapon on school property.
