A Sergeant with the Stevens Point Police Department said a 26-year-old Plover woman will be cited with unsafe lane deviation after she caused an accident Wednesday evening on I-39 near Stevens Point.
Police say the accident happened on I-39 near Highway 10 around 5:33 p.m.
Police said the the woman attempted to switch lanes but did not see the other vehicle; the other vehicle took evasion action to avoid a collision and lost control after striking the shoulder. That vehicle then stuck the offending vehicle causing it to roll over.
Neither party was seriously injured, but one person was taken to the hospital.
Sergeant Sorenson said he believes the role of seatbelts, which both parties were wearing, played a great role in the outcome of the crash.
