Plover Man Sentenced for 10th OWI

A Plover man will spend four-and-half years in prison following a conviction for his 10th OWI.

Robert Mata, 49, appeared in Portage County Circuit Court Monday morning.

Mata reached a plea deal with prosecutors in February.

According to the Stevens Point City Times newspaper, Mata did not know what state he was in was he was arrested in December.

Upon his release from prison, he will spend five years on extended supervision.
