A 36-year-old Plover man will spend three years on probation after he's convicted of conspiring to break into cars and businesses last summer.
Plover Police say they received a report of suspicious activity near Dan's Liquor on Post Road. An officer responded to the area around 3:30 a.m. August 25. According to the criminal complaint, as he shined his spotlight two people ran from the scene.
Eric Harvey, 36, and Kelly Patton, 30, were arrested at the scene. Prosecutors say Harvey admitted he was looking for scrap metal and considered breaking into car looking for money. Police say they recovered a hammer wrapped in a towel near the scene.
Harvey reached a plea deal with prosecutors in May. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary and resisting an officer.
According to the criminal complaint, Patton left her two children, ages 2 and 3, sleep unattended at Harvey's house. She received a similar deal in May and was also ordered to spend three years on probation.
