Charges have now been filed against a 27-year-old Plover man accused of seriously injuring his child during a diaper change last April.
According to the criminal complaint, authorities were notified after a 2-month-old child was brought into a Neenah clinic with injuries the parents could not explain.
An x-ray showed the baby had three fractures to the leg along with significant bruising near the ear and eye.
During an interview with police, the child's father, Ronald Brummer admitted to pulling the child's leg and twisting it out of frustration because the child would not cooperate during a diaper change. A doctor said that explanation is consistent with the child's injuries.
The incident happened April 9, 2012 at a Waupaca apartment.
Brummer said he texted the child's mother saying the child's leg was swollen. Brummer also contact the child's grandmother who told him to put a warm rag on the leg.
Brummer will make his initial appearance in Waupaca County Court on July 30. He's expected to be charged with child abuse-recklessly cause harm and substantial battery-intend bodily harm.
