A plea deal is in the works for a 28-year-old man accused of running over another man while drunk driving in Sauk County this summer.
On July 12 around 4:40 am, Lake Delton Police received a call saying one person had been injured after being run over by a car. Upon arrival responders found the victim lying in the roadway critically injured.
The victim, 21-year-old Michael Weatherford was run over while lying on the road on County Highway A at the time of the incident. He was treated at the scene, but succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital.
The driver of the car Rigoberto Alcantara Hernendez, is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, homicide by use of a vehicle with a PAC, and operating while suspended causing death.
Weatherford's mother, Wendy Revalee, of Weston, tells NewsChannel 7 she is upset because if a plea deal is reached on November 2, she was told Hernendez will only spend 14 months in jail.
