Whether its your child's first day of kindergarten or if they're in 5th grade, it's never to late to begin marking days with a special activity.
In this week's "Pin it in a Minute," we give you some fun ideas to start your own first-day traditions.
No. 1: Take first day of school photos. Ttake a picture every year, in the same spot.
No. 2: Make a special breakfast. Pop a french toast casserole in the fridge the night before to bake for breakfast or make a batch of chocolate chip pancakes.
No. 3: Dress up school supplies. Wrap them up in a basket or stuff a new backpack full.
No. 4: Put notes in lunchboxes. A sweet, handwritten note from mom or dad can make your little ones day.
No. 5: Decorate. Before they wake up, put up a few streamers and balloons in their bedroom doorway.
No. 6: Do a back-to-school interview. Record their age, height, weight, grade, and also a list of favorites like; color, friend, food, TV show.
No. 7: Do a special dinner. Eat out or set the table with your child's favorite foods.
No. 8: Make a short-term time capsule. Include photos from the year, and bury it in a special spot in the yard. Each year you can dig up the year before.
