A 29-year-old pilot from Rockford, Ill. was not injured after his plane crashed in a swamp in Wonewoc Township, about 30 miles west of the Wisconsin Dells.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, firefighters used a small rowboat to rescue the man because of high water.

The Juneau County Sheriff's Office says Seth Pripps was flying his single engine Cessna when he started having engine trouble. Pripps says he was flying from Park Falls to St. Louis when he made a stop to check the plane. Shortly after takeoff he says he started having engine trouble. That’s when the aircraft crashed into a swamp.

The crash was reported at 12:41 p.m. near Bottom Road after the plane departed from Wonewoc.
