Many of us own a pet but licensing is one thing that some forget. Now, if you live in the City of Wausau or the Village of Weston, it may become a little easier.
As we know, pets are something that are dear to many of our hearts. But, some people aren't keeping their pets legal.
In many communities, including Wausau and the Village of Weston, pets like cats and dogs must be properly licensed.
It ensures the pet received its rabies vacations, and also names the owner and where they live. Now, Wausau and Weston want to put the licensing process online, making it easier for animal lovers to get their pets properly registered. It will be done through a company called PetData.
Chairman of Animal Control & Welfare, Keene Winters says, “Pet data would allow people to do the registration right from there home. I think it also would allow us to work with people like vets. What it really creates is really an online registry for pets.”
Wausau charges owners $10 to license a spayed or neutered dog or cat., and $20 for a non-spayed or non-neutered animal.
