The Lincoln County Humane Society say they have received at least 500 applications to adopt the more than 50 dogs and puppies it took in last week following an breeder surrender.
The Lincoln County Humane Society said they have now closed the application process so workers can begin screening applicants to get the animals placed.
If you were hoping to add a furry friend to your family, another area humane society, the Clark County Humane Society is hosting an Adoption Fair Saturday at the Marshfield Mall.
The event starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Paws & Claws Adoption Center in the mall.
The humane society says adoption fees are waived on all cats over six months.
The adoption fair runs until 4 p.m.
