"We are really good when we keep it simple" said UW-Stevens Point hockey head coach Chris Brooks.
And, for the Pointer hockey team keeping it simple means don't lose.
UWSP is 8-0 on the season.
"Coach Brook and Trevor ate putting the right guys together. We're all clicking right now and it's just working for us" commented senior forward Kyle Heck.
"The guys have done a great job and now we have to continue to progress" added Coach Brooks.
Along with their hard work has come rewards. Currently the Pointers are ranked #2 by D3hockey.com and they lead the nation in scoring offense at over six goals per game.
"We try not to limit our guys offensively, we try to let their instincts take over"
"Everyone is buying into the system really well and the guys are hungry..we're coming out every night with a purpose" said sophomore forward and assistant captain Evan Dixon.
The Pointers face their toughest challenge yet this Friday when they pay a visit reigning division III national champion UW-Eau Claire.
"It's going to be tough going into their barn. They have beaten us they last few years so we are looking for a bit of revenge. But, we just have to play our game, come ready and work hard" commented Heck.
"Sure we are proud of our start, but the start means nothing if we don't win Friday night" said Brooks.
The Pointers have four national titles in their trophy case. To garner a 5th one this season they'll just have to keep winning. Simple as that.
