Committee Votes Down Part Two of Metal Bird Project

The second phase of the controversial metal bird project in Wausau is on hold.

Wausau's Economic Development and Finance committees voted Monday night to recommend that the city council shelve part two of the work on the city's west side.

That's a $220,000 job further west of the work already done on highway 52.

They did recommend completion of part one around the controversial metal birds that have already been put up.

Irrigation for part one costs about $20,000.
