GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The upcoming Green Bay game isn't just good news for Packers fans -- it's expected to generate more than $13 million for the local economy.
A Press-Gazette Media report says a consulting firm once estimated how much of a financial impact a Packers game has on Green Bay and Brown County. AECOM Technical Services figured in 2009 that out-of-town visitors accounted for about $12.3 million in spending overall.
That was a few years ago, and before the team added 7,000 seats at Lambeau Field.
When visitors come to town, they spend at businesses including restaurants, bars, hotels and gas stations.
Titletown Brewery owner Brent Weycker says Fridays are already busy, but having a Sunday playoff game means people stay in town through Sunday night.
