Traffic on Highway 29 was heavier than usual Saturday as Vikings fans made their way from Minnesota to the Frozen Tundra for the NFC North Wild Card Playoff game.

People were already out on the roads early this morning, but things really picked up between 2:00PM and 3:00PM Saturday afternoon.

The Wisconsin State Patrol was also out in full force, making sure that game day aggression didn't spill out onto the roads.

"We're just asking people to just take their time. Please slow down. Don't drive aggressively. It's not going to save you anymore time. If anything, if you do get stopped and you get cited, it's going to slow you up so you're not going to gain anything by it," Sergeant Carrie Johnson of the Wisconsin State Patrol warned.

Troopers say the trend seems to be that they hand out more speeding tickets to people driving to the game and more DUI's to people on their way home.

"I want to make sure that people aren't drinking and driving, you know that's key. Wear you're seat belt. Follow at a safe distance and follow the speed limit," Sergeant Johnson advised.

Not only was the State Patrol busy today, but so were gas stations with everyone stopping to fill up before the big game.
