OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) -- Oshkosh police say they have found the man who says he left a puppy behind at a Wisconsin truck stop.

An employee at Planeview Truck Stop in Oshkosh found the puppy behind a trash bin last Thursday. The puppy was in a black plastic gift bag.

The Oshkosh Police Department contacted a trucking company out of Missouri. Police spoke to a man from Missouri and say he said he left the dog behind the bin.

WLUK-TV reports police continue to investigate. No charges have been filed.

The Oshkosh Area Humane Society is caring for the puppy. She has a spinal injury and will need surgery for a broken pelvis.
