Oshkosh Man Found Guilty in Heroin Death

OSHKOSH (AP) - A jury has found a 32-year-old man guilty of providing heroin to a Winneconne man who died of an overdose.

Jason Van Dyke, of Oshkosh, was charged with first-degree reckless homicide in connection to the overdose death of 25-year-old Cole Trittin in April 2011.

According to a criminal complaint, a man told authorities in April 2011 that Van Dyke was scared and told him the heroin he gave Trittin and another man was stronger than the two men anticipated.

The Winnebago County jury found Van Dyke guilty on Tuesday.

The Oshkosh Northwestern reports he's set to be sentenced Jan. 31.
