Update: 2/10/2014 - 9:00 p.m.

Sheriff's deputies say a suspicious package found in the Oneida Co. Courthouse turned out to be a false alarm. Inside deputies found diapers.

The abandoned duffel bag was searched and x-rayed by the Marathon - Oneida Co. Bomb Sqaud and concluded the bag was being used as a diaper bag.

The courthouse is expected to be open tomorrow as usual.

The Oneida County Courthouse has been evacuated after a duffel bag was located outside the Social Services Department, according to the Lakeland Times Newspapers. Attempts to identify the owner were unsuccessful.

Courthouse staff were told to leave the building about 2:15 this afternoon. Deputies have cordoned off the area where the package was found.

The Marathon - Oneida County Bomb Squad is investigating.

NewsChannel 7 has a crew headed to the scene and will share with you the latest details as they become available.
