The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department has released the name of man who died after being struck by car early Sunday morning north of Tomahawk.
Investigators say Robert L. Zempel, 52, was killed after he walked out into the intersection of County Road S and South Park Drive and was hit by a passing car.
Several units responded to the scene, including Tomahawk Police Department, Merill Police Department, WI DNR, Tomahawk EMS and Fire, and State Patrol.
The man was declared dead at 1:25 a.m. after being transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk.
The State Patrol is reconstructing the crash scene. Investigation is on-going but no citations or arrests will be made.
