MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin officials are alerting Fox Valley area residents to a possible scam.

The state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says it has received calls from senior residents in Appleton and Green Bay. They have received calls telling to expect a piece of medical equipment that they have never ordered.

Officials say the calls appear to be machine-dialed but the message they deliver sounds similar. No one has been victimized so far.

Residents who receive such calls should hang up immediately and never press any keys to proceed. They should call the police or contact the state hotline at 1-800-422-7128 if calls continue.
