Not Guilty Plea from Athens Woman Accused of Stealing from Employer

A Marathon County woman say she's not guilty of stealing nearly half a million dollars from her employer.

Online court records say 40-year-old Michelle Walters of Athens entered the plea during a court appearance Tuesday.

She's charged with seven counts of felony theft after police say she embezzled the money from Northwestern Wisconsin Associates, a retirement company in Wausau.

Walters faces 70 in prison if convicted. She's free on a signature bond.
