A spokesperson for Wisconsin Public Service say periodic outages caused throughout the day Thursday have been caused by high winds.
Thursday afternoon, more than 1,500 were without power in Boulder Junction in Vilas County-- affecting nearly the whole community.
Leah Van Zile from WPS says that outage was caused by a tree that fell on a power line. The outage has since been repaired.
Minocqua also experienced a smaller outage, affecting about 100 customers. That has also since been repaired.
Deerbrook, in northern Langlade County, had about 900 customers without power as of 5 p.m.
